You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain

Anna Team's debacle reminded and made me further believe in "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain". The movement that inspired the whole of India and instilled in them a fierce determination to fight against courrption seems to be losing its momentum. The move from an apolitical movement to a political one is sad shift.

It was really sad to see Anna walk off instead of answering the questions. Team Anna get real, welcome the first baby step of the tabled  Lokpal bill and encourage for a better one-- or see yourself turn into villains.

Moi Jetia Eii Jibonor.....

“Death Maketh the man!” These words came to my mind when I saw the throng of people that gathered to bid adieu to the legend Dr. Bhupen Hazarika ! Never before has Assam witnessed such mass outpouring of grief! But was the grief an act of repentance for the way he was treated when he was alive.

Assamese culture is definitely synonymous with the maestro and he was loved by almost all. I say almost because there was a section of people that hated him for reasons that I failed to comprehend.

But at least at his death, all gathered to pray homage to the true son of Assam!

As the long as the Brahmaputra flows, the valley of Assam will sway to his immortal songs and hum the melodious tunes that wander through our veins!

7 Steps to boost sales via social media

We are well-aware of the fact that social media can play a large role in increasing your brand visibility as well as perception. It acts as a great tool for brand building and also to enhance your brand recall. Additionally, it can also help you increase your sales.

Recently, I read SalesForce’s ‘The Social Sales Revolution – 7 Steps to get ahead’. I am sharing with all of you as I felt it would give us fair perception as to how we can use the social media to increase our sales and make our brand more visible. We all have to a part of this revolution as buyers seem to connect with the brands that engage with them on social media.

  1. Be there: Just being present on the social media sites you can know what your customers or prospective customers are looking for or complaining about.
  2. Join in the conversations with your customers: Know where your customers hangout (groups, forums, networking sites) and connect with them.
  3. Make yourself likeable: Make appropriate and appealing profiles in the social networking sites, connect with everybody you know and join the relevant industry bodies.
  4. First friends, and then leads: Listen to your customers, respond to them quickly, resolve their issues and then give (sell) what they are looking for.
  5. Connect with social intelligence: Listen closely as to what the customer needs, understand their requirements, and learn from their social behavior.
  6. Post/Tweet: Be yourself and post at social media sites at least twice a week.
  7. Get Together, Sell Better: Participate daily in your employees’ social networks and gain great insights.
So if you are looking for the next big sale: get on the social media bandwagon and then listen, analyze, connect and sell.
